Vulture, Turkey

The turkey vulture is a large bird with a small naked red head. The female is similar to the adult male, however, juvenile turkey vultures often have a gray head. Adult vultures have two-toned colored wings, and their wingspan is about six feet wide.  When the bird flies low and overhead the bird seems enormous and you can feel a burst of air as it flies by. The vulture is a scavanger and feasts on dead animals.  Often you will see several vultures feasting together.
